Naoki Shimodate was born in Tokyo, Japan.
He began his classical piano studies at the age of five and guitar
at
the age of eight.
At seventeen he started to play the guitar professionally.
At nineteen he became interested in jazz. In 1992 he moved to
Boston
to develop his guitar skills.
In 1994 he went to Spain being interested in flamenco guitar.
Gibson jazz guitar contest 4th place in 2005.
